Founded in 1968, by Pastor Joseph M. Brown, Manna Bible is an inner-city ministry committed to rescuing individuals who are hungry and thirsty for life.
Evangelism and expounding truth through powerful evangelistic preaching laid the cornerstone of Manna’s ministry. Since its inception, it has now expanded its objectives to community outreach, hoping to meet basic needs of food, clothing shelter and rehabilitation to those who are willing to become receptive to change, especially a change in heart.
Priority is also given to educating, equipping and empowering its members to become courageous and competent servants of Christ. A revitalized church, Manna is now under the leadership of Pastor David E. Gaines, Sr.
A native of Baltimore who has known the Lord for over 50 years, his quest is to know God and to make Him known. Happily married to Tracey, committed to God, his family, and his church, he has committed his life to worshiping God and being His servant. He insists his members become students of the Book if they are to become masters of it for the Master's use.
Pastor Gaines served as an Associate Pastor to “Preacher Brown” for twelve years at Manna, prior to serving at the New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown for ten. A graduate of Washington Bible College/Capital Bible Seminary, (now Lancaster Bible College), he is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree, and is an adjunct professor for Lancaster Bible College and Faith Theological Seminary. Dedicated to strengthening marriages and families, he and his wife have founded Charis for You Unlimited, a ministry that mentors singles, and married couples in relationship disciplines.
His preaching and teaching offers indulgence in that which satisfies, an opportunity to feast upon the Word of God, the prescription for abundant life.
